About Me
My name is Nathan Barnes and I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to shooting competitively, I raced dirt bikes professionally. Being involved in something highly competitive with extreme risk from a young age taught me a lot about the dedication and focus that performing at the top level requires. When I started shooting in 2023, I was able to apply the lessons I had learned from years of racing into competetive shooting. My ability to stay calm during stress and to bounce back after setbacks has allowed me to rapidly improve and reach the highest levels of the sport in a short amount of time. Within my first year of shooting I classified Master in Carry Optics. I finished 5th at the Area 1 Championship, 50th at Carry Optics Nationals, 1st at the Columbia Cascade Section Championship and 1st at the Oregon State Championship in Carry Optics. The following year I finished 5th at the US Extreme Open, 7th at Factory Gun Nationals, 6th at IPSC U.S. Nationals, and I had an overall win at the Columbia Cascade Sectional.
